Hi! I wasn’t able to post an entry for 2 weeks. Why? Because of something bad. Saturday [May 24, 2008] 6:45am I just finished my lunch break in the office when I read the message from my Mom that they rushed my Dad to That afternoon, I was super touched because my agents went to the hospital after the shift and give support. I wasn’t myself and I had to go up after a few minutes since my Mom is calling. Around 5pm, I really can’t manage to go to work because we still don’t know what to do or what my Dad’s status is. I decided to text my Managers and inform them that I really need to file for an Emergency Vacation Leave. That night, I have to ask my Mom and sister to go home since they’re both sick too and needs some rest. Meaning, I’m left alone in the waiting area with a bunch of strangers who have patients in ICU too. Around 2:30am (Sunday, May 25), I just realized that since I was born, this is the FIRST TIME that my dad went to the Hospital, let alone Confined because of himself. It just hit me and next thing I know, I was sobbing, crying like a li’l kid. I stayed and slept in the WAITING AREA for 3 days. It looks like a retrenchment area where in relatives sleep on cartons, mattresses or on the chairs. Finally, on the 4th day, he was moved to a regular room and out of the ICU. Saturday, May 31, 2008: He was finally released from the Hospital. He’s home, resting, acting like nothing happened. I just wish that he can manage to keep up with his new diet. I pray and please pray that he be as healthy as before. ======================================== I only worked for 2 days; I know that everything is piled up too. I hope that I will not loose my drive to work.

5:30am today, My Sister, Dad and I went to my office, to deliver spaghetti, fried chicken and tuna sandwich. It’s my birthday and I promised I’d bring food. When I arrived, they were all in the pantry and they sang the birthday song. They also gave me a PURPLE CAKE from Red Ribbon. It’s so pretty. I love it!

This is such a memorable week. Why? I got to talk to my new Manager whom they call “strict”, “by the book” and “someone who lacks people skills”. I really can’t stop myself from being honest! I literally told her that we’re working because we are ‘forced’ to work and unlike with the other Boss, we are working because ‘we love to please and make our Boss happy!’ There’s a totally different outcome for someone who’s working because they love their work than someone working just for the sake of getting salary every payday. It’s hard to really work and be at your best when you’re scared or intimidated. I never knew she grew up in a military family and could count the times she saw her father smile. (That sucks!) I, on the other hand, grew up smiling. We take everything lightly; I think my Dad is the twin brother of Dolphy, MacGyver and a renowned cook/painter in his past life. I grew up knowing that the best things in life are free. A smile can make wonders… well, going back, I actually made her cry. After that, she changed! She’s a totally different person; I guess it’s a wake-up call that you can’t apply an iron hand to everyone. We (Coaches & Managers) all went to Mang Jimmy’s in UP Diliman. It was great, love the food there. Our Deputy generously paid for our food. Thanks Boss! J I want to also share these pictures:
